Gozu is back with a new album, Gozu VI. An eight track LP of sludgy stoner music. Heavy riffs, full of distortion, and interesting lyrics. Gozu delivers a punch in the genre they inhabit.

I had to listen to this album a few times to give an honest opinion on it. Truth is, I do like it. It ebbs from this slower sludgy vibe to a bit of a higher octane. I think that’s why I had to give it a few listens.

The slower bits of the album are like a doom lullaby. The high-octane bits are strong and keep your attention. So, there’s definitely something for everyone on the album. Gimme the Lute is probably my favorite song in the album. It’s the perfect mix of what I mention above. It has slower sludgy bits, but then it goes zero to sixty. The mix is great; the lyrics are catchy. I think it’s what makes the album peak.

If you’re into Clutch and other similar bands, definitely give them a go!
