Montreal's progressive rock powerhouse, KARCIUS, returns with Black Soul Sickness — a haunting and cinematic odyssey through the fragile architecture of the human psyche.

The album is absolutely an Epic written and performed. Karcius are the bards of the story they’ve written. This is part three in their epic story as well. What feels like a brilliant conclusion to a story that has spanned years.

It’s also an impressive work of art, musically. There are definitely notes of progressive metal in it. But it feels like listening to a prog rock opera, almost. Lyrically it’s beautiful and immersive. You’re literally transported to this world they’ve created.

I did go back and listen to the other two albums that tell the story and there’s a clear sign of growth as we progress through them.

I highly suggest just finding time to sit with your eyes closed and allowing them to sing you this story. From start to finish it’s amazing.
