Hailing from Germany, Watcher is delivering their newest installment Mistress of Time. Starting out as a one-man band, Watcher has fleshed out to a full-fledged line up. Promising some headbanging metal.

The whole album is very reminiscent of 80s rock music all while remaining a fresh perspective. I kept saying to myself that the album is a vibe. I could 100% see them opening or touring with Iron Maiden, and those who’ve read my scribblings know that’s high praise.

The word of the week is apparently cinematic as I’ve used it to describe a few other bands, but it’s an appropriate use. The music is big, the lyrics are story, it just needs to be set on screen. Going from a one-person band to a Full-fledged band seems to be the best move the band could make. Sometimes adding additional perspective helps.

I think I listened to Chalice of Light six times while reviewing. The whole album has high replay ability, but that’s song is such a standout. Musically, lyrically everything hits on point. I can only recommend everyone go get this album when it drops.
