The Saddest Landscape are an American post-hardcore band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002. They quickly became known for their passionate, visceral sound and extensive catalog of releases that blend intensity with introspection.

 

How this band escaped me while I lived in the area during the time they were founded is beyond me. However, this is such a pleasant surprise.

 

I know they say they’re post-hardcore and while that is true, they have a touch of emo in them. That may be the lyrics though. It’s like listening to someone take their heart out and show it to you.

 

Reminiscent of early AFI, the musicality on this album is top notch. The lyrics are raw, emotional and heavy. I love it when music begs you to dive into your emotions. The Saddest Landscape absolutely does that.

 

I would absolutely recommend this band to everyone. It’s so hard to pick a standout song for me, because each song is so wracked with emotions. It’s beautifully sad.
