Chile’s Ripper comes back with their full-length album, Towards Rebirth. With their last single coming out about 6 years ago and their last full-length album being 12 years old. The band has spent the last decade perfecting their sound to bring us a new level of violence.

This was my first introduction to the band, though I did go back to sample their other work. I wanted an understanding of how far they’ve come and the evolution of the band. This album is heavy & technical. The lyrics come across as this brutal type of slam poetry over a sonic assault of riffs and double bass.

The first song on the album, or the instrumental intro, is a completely different sound than the rest of the album. It can be a bit jarring at first. Almost a bait and switch. However, once you get past that, the album is a pleasure to listen to.

Go give it listen!
