Italian Symphonic Black Metal Legends OPERA IX has been co-existing with us normal deadly people since 1988. They’ve released Veneficium out to the public.

 

It’s been a very long time since I’ve listened to Opera IX, so this was a treat. If you’re versed in Black Metal, you’ve likely stumbled across this band. Be it in your music recommendations or word of mouth. Opera IX has literally been around as long as I’ve been alive. That’s a massive feat.

 

Veneficium is a beautiful entry into their catalog. A symphonic wave of beautifully written black metal. Each song flows almost seamlessly into the next. A melodic droning that you can get sucked into. Personally, I was able to completely and blissfully zone out while listening to the album. That’s not to say I didn’t pay attention, I was simply entranced.

 

I definitely recommend!
