Hailing from Sweden, Gina Lady are giving us their live album, Toads and Diamonds. They do have upwards of 7 studio releases, but this is their first live album. And what an impression it makes!

 

I sorta grew up with a myriad of music, but southern rock was generally all around me. Gin Lady reminds me so much of the music I listened to growing up while also giving me a lot of modern vibes. I kept trying to think of who Gin Lady reminded me of and it would change by song. I love that, honestly. A hodgepodge of inspiration making music you can just bob your head to.

 

I listened to Tingens Sanna Natur and I’m Your Friend a million times while reviewing this album. They’re both beautiful and they get you in. This album as a whole is a bop. Truly. I’m shocked it’s a live album because they’re so locked in. It sounds better than most studio albums and that is a testament to their musicality.

 

They’re for sure going on repeat.
