GÅTE are coming out with their latest installment, Sigil, this September. I have to have been living under a rock to not have heard of this band before. They’ve literally toured with one of my favorite bands, Leprous.

That said, I was very excited to give this a listen. In simple words, I am blown away. They’re immediately working into my rotation of usual music. I immediately told my spouse to get hype for the new album and they’re already listening to older work.

This album hits so many marks. First, it sounds epic. I mean that in the literally sense. There are swells and crescendos. It is the definition of breath taking. The vocals are Godly. There are masculine and feminine vocals here, though the feminine vocals dominate. There’s even a guest vocal of Maria from Heilung and that…shew, make things extra special. The music? It transcendence. It literally invokes a feeling of a new space or a different time. You feel a calling. Be it of force or nature.

How can you not lament about a band, a gathering of musicians who do such a marvelous job?! I feel like I need to speak about this band to everyone. Word of mouth is a beautiful thing, and I have the gift of gab.
