Evergrey dropped their 15th album, Architects Of A New Weave in June. Firstly, let’s just applaud the fact that they have put out 15 albums. That’s so incredibly impressive.

 

I also wanna say this is my first listen of them, and I’m sad I hadn’t discovered them until now. It falls right in line with the music I love. A progressive melancholy of storytelling. This album feels like a beautiful concept of longing, loss, and building a new version of yourself.

 

Every song on this album feels nostalgic but not at the same time. Maybe that’s just me since I listen to so much music. But there’s a familiarity to it that I love. There was even a track on the album that gave me Dio “Rainbow in the Dark vibes” (that track is also the name of this album “Architects Of The New Weave”)

 

I think my favorite track on the album is “Heaven”. But each song is stunning, well written, incredibly mixed, and just so strong that it makes it almost impossible to pick a favorite.

 

Definitely give them a listen, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
