ELDER returns! Today, the torchbearers for heavy psychedelic rock have announced their long anticipated next album, Through Zero, will be released on May 29th via Blues Funeral Recordings (North America), Stickman Records (Europe/UK) and Bird's Robe (Australia).
First off, have I been hiding and/or living under a rock?! How have I not discovered this band sooner?! I’m genuinely upset with myself for not knowing that this band existed. They are…. Just breathtaking.
Okay, so enough beating myself up. This is my first listening to Elder and won’t be my last. I actually just looked at my spouse and said, “they’re playing locally in Sept. Lets figure out tickets!” Through Zero is this epic of progressive and a touch of psychedelic music. I’ve sat here wracking my brain trying to come up with who Elder sounds like and it’s a miss. They’re a genre all their own.
I also sat here asking myself, “which song is a standout track” and the answer is yes. Just yes. All of them. Every single song is amazing. It’s been a very long time since I became so instantly enamored with a band. I truly love it when music hits me so hard that I’m instantly hooked. And that’s exactly what Elder did.
I don’t think I could physically recommend this band enough. This album enough. Holy shiitake mushrooms. Go bless your ear holes.
