Devildriver are back with their latest installment Strike and Kill out via Napalm Records. It’s a tour de force of music. Thirteen songs of what I would call quintessential DevilDriver.

 

Now, I was the kid that grew up with Coal Chamber, got sad at their disbandment, but then excited when Dez formed DevilDriver. So, I’ve been listening to them for close to twenty years. I won’t lie though; they’ve not been in heavy rotation as of late.

 

That may change with this album. It’s really DevilDriver at its best. Lyrically strong. Musically technical and precise. It’s a perfect mix of what makes them, them. A melodic heavily seasoned metal album. There’s a lot of standouts on the album. Dig Your Own Grave is my favorite and the perfect way to start the album. It truly lays the groundwork for what’s coming.
