Blindead 23, formerly known as Blindead, is the new Polish avant-metal juggernaut led by ex-Behemoth guitarist Mateusz "Havoc" Smierzchalski, with a stellar lineup also including Roger Öjersson (ex-Katatonia) and Pawel "Pavulon" Jaroszewicz (Vltimas, ex-Vader, ex-Decapitated). Blindead 23 have announced their much-anticipated debut album, Deuterium.

I don’t know what I was expecting. I was profoundly blown away. Blindead 23 is like if you left Vola, Corey Taylor, and maybe BTBAM in a room for a long time. The love child would 100% be Blindead 23. Knowing that the band is comprised of some of the best musicians also helps.

This album ebbs and flows from heavy to soft. A sonic wave of intensity that you can get lost in. Brutal gutturals and a soft singing voice. The music doesn’t miss. The lyrics are heavy. It’s a no skip nonstop pleasure to the ears.

Wither stood out to me. It’s a slower song on the album. It’s a beautiful telling of being, in my opinion. A song that everyone can find a piece of themselves in. A bridging of emotions to fill the gaps.

Honestly, this is an impressive album.
