Progressive rockers SUBMASQ (formerly known as Subterranean Masquerade) will make its Willowtip debut with the September 18 release of its seventh full-length album, Spirit Animal.

 

I wasn’t sure what I was expecting going into the album, but I am for sure happy I have it a chance. This almost feels like it’s a rock opera that deserves a stage. It’s whimsical, serious, sad, defiant, and so much more. Each song is a story.

 

This is one of those albums where every song will hit you differently. It will invoke a series of different emotions. Musically, this album is mixed and performed beautifully. There was work that went into the composition. Lyrically, I’m going back to the story telling vibe. It’s cinematic and stunning.
