Requiem in White

The Visible Heaven

After three decades of silence, the "last original band" of the American gothic movement, Requiem in White, has returned. The band is set to release “The Visible Heaven”, their first new album since disbanding in 1994, via The Circle Music on 21 May 2026.

It’s big to boast being the last Original Band of the American Gothic Movement when in my very humble opinion the goth movement is still alive and well, just in the underground. However, Requiem in White has reemerged.

Let’s talk about the impressive amount of work behind the music. This is a two-piece band. Doc Hammer is the individual behind the music and lyrics we get blessed with. Lisa Stockton-Wilson provides us with layers of haunting and occasionally operatic vocals. There is perfect melding of minds, musically here.

The album feels nostalgic and reminiscent. It’s definitely easy to fall into a groove while listening to the music. It feels epic and powerful all while remaining to feel relatable. I would absolutely recommend it. Especially to the old heads in the Goth scene.
