Rapid is giving us their first full length LP titled Enter the Realm of Fire. Coming out of Finland with speed to kill.


I need y’all to tease your hair, slap on some spikes and enter the pit. Rapid is a gem for current times but an absolute throwback to the speed metal of the 80s. A nonstop onslaught of fun. I will admit, I was thrown off because I hadn’t looked at where Rapid is from. It became rapidly (I love puns) obvious that they’re not speaking English. Once I saw they hail from Finland, I stopped questioning what I’m listening to and just went with it.

 

I love it. It reminds me so much of music I grew up with. It’s exciting that some bands can keep nostalgic alive while keeping it fresh too. The singing solos, the epic pounding bass and let’s not leave out the drumming all work in unison. Sure, they should as a band, but sometimes you can throw musicians in a room and all you get is noise. In the case of Rapid, it’s a masterclass of perfection within their genre.

 

Safe bet says I really dug it.
