Norwegian band Masheena have released their sophomore effort, “Let The Spiders In,” and while they hadn’t been on my radar until now, they’ve clearly been worth the wait. Considering the album comes courtesy of Ripple and Majestic Mountain, there’s naturally a hefty dose of fuzz and Stoner Rock swagger throughout. That said, the record leans just as heavily into big, booming Classic Rock vibes.
Fans of traditional Hard Rock should latch onto this album immediately, especially those nostalgic for the kind of music that dominated Rock radio in decades past. “Let The Spiders In” is packed with melody, hooks, and genuinely feel-good moments -elements that are often buried beneath the haze in many Stoner Rock releases. Masheena, however, thrives on huge melodies, stretching them into soaring, anthemic choruses that stick with you long after the album ends.
I strongly recommend this to fans of classic, no-frills Hard Rock the way it used to be played on the radio back in the day.
Standouts – “Going To The Mountain”, “One Eye”, “Life Is But A Sin”, “In Her Eyes”.
