Durham, North Carolina-based MAKE returns with their first album in a decade, announcing their fourth LP, Exegesis At The End Of Time, for release on June 12th on Accident Prone Records.
I’m not sure what rock I’ve been living under to be this close to NC and haven’t heard of Make. This is absolutely the type of sludge music I love. There are so many layers to the sound design, music, lyrics etc.
Yes, you have the quintessential Doom/Sludge aspects you’d expect from a similar band, but Make adds this layer of technical precision and a dash of psychedelic energy that makes them stand out.
I think the first track, The End of the Night, stands out for me. It’s beautiful and droning and then flows into that Doom/Sludge vibe. Highly recommend it.
