COYOTE MAN is an instrumental power trio from Chicago, Illinois. Members Augie Portugal, Ian Wheeler, and Rene Rodriguez have been making noise since the early 2000s but officially formed the band in 2015.
One of my favorite things about listening to instrumental music is that the music speaks to my feelings. It’s up to my interpretation. Lyrics form in my brain from the music. It’s not a feeling given to me, but something organically inspired by the sounds I’m listening to. Coyote Man does just that. It pulls you in, forces you to listen and then brings out the paintings and imagery hiding in the corners of your mind.
This would be considered an LP, consisting of 7 semi long songs, but I still want more. The journey within Prosthetic Memories is one I want to go on for a longer time. It’s just that good. A sonic landscape of sort discovery isn’t something I thought I needed, but shew….i did.
This is a monolith of music. A masterpiece within a genre of heartfelt lyrics. Coyote Man is setting themselves a part by being instrumental. I could gush on and on about them. Sincerely, they are deserving of endless praise. They are way more deserving of more listeners. Get into it.
