Chicago trio AZIOLA CRY unveils their incoming fourth album, Dysphoria Ritual, which is now confirmed for release this April through 7D Media, the label founded by former King Crimson member Trey Gunn.

The best way to describe this album is Boss Level Video Game Music. Each song flows into the next, making it feel like you’re in the trenches of battle. I think it’s a good thing.

The trio of musicians’ sound like they’re doing exactly what they love doing. Composing epic soundscapes that have the ability to transport the listener. As a first time listener, I am elated.

The mix on this album is perfect. It’s technical, progressive, and a touch dismal. The dismal comes from the feeling the music gives you. Again, it’s like fighting a boss battle that feels never ending.

I highly recommend
